This Tepeztate has been produced in very small, limited batches by 3rd-generation mezcaleros using 100% artisanal methods. The Bautista Family has inherited the craft from their father and grandfather, passing down decades of observation, intuition, and deep understanding of wild agave behaviour.

Agave marmorata (Tepeztate) is a legendary wild agave that grows on sheer limestone cliffs and steep rocky slopes. It takes between 15 to 25 years to mature, capturing a quarter-century of soil, rain, and sun in a single plant.

Tepeztate is widely considered by mezcal aficionados to be the most aromatic and complex of all agave varietals. It trades heavy sweetness for intense green, peppery, and chalky mineral flavors.
