ArteNOM 1146 EF Tequila Anejo 700ml (41.3% alc)
This is a masterfully aged highland tequila crafted by legendary master tequilero Enrique Fonseca at Casa Tequileña (NOM 1146) in Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco, Mexico.
Aged for a minimum of 14 months, this anejo tequila is pretty special! The composition consists of 60% two-year aged and 40% three-year aged French oak components.
Rich and layered, with warm butterscotch and creamy vanilla leading the nose. The oak influence is elegant, never overpowering, allowing the agave’s sweetness to shine through.
The palate holds toffee, walnut candy, custard, orange zest, dark chocolate. The finish is long, warming, and deeply satisfying.
Enrique Fonseca is famously known for holding the single largest inventory of ultra-mature, hyper-aged tequilas in existence. Decades ago, when other distilleries assumed tequila would spoil if left in wood for too long, he had the foresight to buy up ex-bourbon casks in order to quietly lay down massive volumes of spirit. Because of this, his aging warehouses hold legendary barrels that date back decades, a treasure trove unmatched by anyone else in Mexico.
