Calle 23 Anejo Tequila 40% alc
Double Gold Medal: Awarded at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
This tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave grown in Los Altos (the Highlands), giving it a naturally sweeter, more vibrant fruit-and-floral foundation than lowland tequilas. It's been aged for 16 months in ex-bourbon casks, which is four months longer than the legal minimum required for an Añejo. As a result, you get a smoother, sweeter, and more complex tequila.
Aroma : Rich notes of warm vanilla, rich caramel, and toasted oak.
Taste : Super creamy, chocolatey and rich. Strong notes of caramel and toffee with a sprinkle of cinnamon. There is still some Agave fruit shining through, though it's more of a baked, roasted flavor than the younger expressions.
