NODO Tequilana Reposado 700ml (40%)
The name "NODO" stands for "No Denomination of Origin". Because the distillery sits literally five minutes outside the legal regulatory border of the Tequila zone, the word "Tequila" cannot be legally printed on the label. Instead, it is classified as a Destilado de Agave or Tequilana—even though it is made with 100% Blue Weber Agave using traditional methods that rival certified tequilas.
The Bañuelos family has been making Tequilana since the 1970s, well before the Denomination of Origin for Tequila was defined or regulated as such. This is essentially a classic style Tequila in every sense but the regulatory name. It tastes like the Tequila of yesteryear before modern Tequila switched to industrialised farming and production shortcuts.
Rested for 6 months in French Oak, that housed Chardonnay from the acclaimed La Crema Winery in the Sonoma Valley.
